Vicar sent me an email yesterday saying he had come across this Sundowners chick from many years ago and he was having problems with her. He said, if I send her up to you will you try and do something with her. I was more than happy to help Vicar, after I got her sorted out, I thought that I would share her with everybody.

Yes a friend of mine had this poster hidden. At a party on Saturday night he mentioned to me he had found this hidden in one of those poster tubes. The poster brought back some fond memories, for lots of reasons, and I thought most would remember this and enjoy, especially the blokes.

I keep finding it amazing that images like this keep appearing from what seems is out of nowhere.

This picture revives some fond memories for me as I had this poster behind my desk in my Palace street hostel office.
My recollection is that the poster girl is Stephanie McLean who was then a girlfiriend of the famous motorbike rider, the late Barry Sheene. She was a Penthouse model who somehow got persuaded to model for Sundowners, possibly after a visit to the Albany Pub. The story goes is that she later became Barry's  wife and that they emigrated to the Gold Coast in the late 1980's.

Maybe we could invite her to be a special guest for the reunion party, so if anyone has an old T shirt for her to wear, although like the all our old T shirts they may not fit the body as well these days. Otherwise we may have to just put her poster up on the wall at the reunion to rekindle those old memories.

The other distinctive poster on my wall in those days was the female tennis player scatching her rear sans cullottes. Does anyone remember that one?

this was pre Albany. It was the Kings Head then.

The T shirt may not fit the body, but equally the body may not fit the T shirt after the years have gone by.
